The Present Perfect

Definition:  The Perfect Progressive verb tenses are used specifically to express a continuing action. The action started in the past and continues in the present. The structure is often combined with words which indicate an unfinished period, such as the last few days, for seven months, since last August, since last year, etc

Example:       I have seen this movie before.   

                      I haven't seen her for years.

                      She hasn't called her friends in months.

How to write the Present Perfect

 

To write the Present Perfect Progressive you must use the present of the verb To Have, the past participle of the the verb To Be, and the –ing form of the verb you are conjugating.  

  Contracted form (have = 've)

I haven't worked
